Charles Garfunkel, Co-Owner of A. J. & C. Garfunkel and President of Garfunkel Development Corporation, has over 30 years of experience in the Commercial Real Estate Industry. Charles graduated from the Boston University School of Management in 1981 with a BSBA degree in accounting and a concentration in tax. Following graduation, he began working at A. J. & C. Garfunkel and has since leased over 2 million square feet of property in 5 states. Over the years, Charles has held several important roles at A. J. & C. Garfunkel, including Managing Member, President and Co-Owner. In 1995, Mr. Garfunkel founded Garfunkel Development Corporation and is responsible for and involved in all aspects of the company, including leasing, management and operation. In remaining active in both companies, he has participated in over a billion dollars’ worth of deals. Additionally, Mr. Garfunkel has been an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers since 1992, has represented various clients including institutions, private funds, and high net worth individuals, and has acted as an expert witness in several Real Estate Valuations. Charles is also actively involved in the community, having sat on the Savannah Board of Realtors, the Southeastern Regional Board of A.R.M.D.I, and the Georgia/South Carolina Real Estate Commission. Mr. Garfunkel is a past president of Rambam Day School, Bnai Brith Jacob Synagogue, the JEA Men’s Club, Bnai Brith Jacob Brotherhood Organization, and is currently the Treasurer of the Bnai Brith Jacob Synagogue.
